Gaston County Landfill Has Ample Room For Most Solid Waste Disposal

Gaston County's current landfill is on a 310-acre site with 25 additional years of predicted capacity depending on future permitting.

  • Available capacity: Approximately 25 Years
  • Gaston County has a Sub-Title "D" land waste cell for all solid wastes.
  • The County also has a construction and demolition debris cell.

Wastes not accepted at landfill:

  • Hazardous wastes
  • Infectious wastes
  • Free liquids
  • Radioactive wastes
  • Fluorescent light tubes
  • Recyclables (see recyclables list at right)
  • PCB’s
  • Asbestos
