PRESS RELEASE: Welcome DHOLLANDIA MFG LLC to SouthRidge Business Park.
December 21, 2017 – The Gaston County Economic Development Commission is pleased to announce that the DHOLLANDIA MFG LLC will purchase approximately 16 acres from Gaston County in the Southridge Business Park in Bessemer City. Dhollandia plans an initial in-vestment of up to $26 million to construct an advanced manufacturing operation in Bessemer City, including the establishment of a North American corporate office. The potential for the investment to increase to $30 million should occur over the course of several capital invest-ment phases from calendar years beginning in 2018 through 2022. The company intends to create at least one hundred fifty new jobs with the potential to go up to 200. Dhollandia MFG LLC will hire people for a variety of job functions to include engineers, production workers and managers.
“We are very excited about this project and our intention is to make it the most modern factory in our group with high level technology and a training center for both internal training and training for end users – we very much look forward to start the project and we believe that North-Carolina will prove to be a very supportive and reliable partner in the long term relationship we would like to establish “ said Lothar Burger, US CEO. The average wage across all positions will be higher than the current average wage because of the training and the level of people we are look-ing to hire. I would add that we look forward to working closely with the local community and engage with the Gaston Community College in starting an apprenticeship program!” he added.
Mr. Chad Brown, Chairman of the Gaston County Board of Commissioners said; “We are excited to welcome the DHOLLANDIA MFG LLC to Gaston County. This is great news for our community, especially for Bessemer City.” He further stated, “Dhollandia is a great addition to Gaston County. The recruitment of global companies was a key reason for the County’s extension of the road, water and sewer in the Southridge Business Park. If we are to compete for quality projects, Gaston County has to help provide the proper environment for busi-ness. We look forward to the next step of this project — the construction of the corporate office and advanced production facility.” Chairman Brown added, “Gaston County will continue to provide support for Dhollandia through our EDC’s Existing Industry Program.”
